 Chat Transcript with Chad Johnston
Q&A with the Positive Impact Football Campers Date: July 14th, 2006
| [Camper]: |
What was the hardest team you ever played against? |
| [Chad]: |
The hardest team I ever played against was probably the Nebraska Cornhuskers. They won back to back national championships. My first start as a Mountaineer was against the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Kickoff Classic. They beat us 31-0. That year they ended up winning the national championship. At the end of the year, 31-0 wasn't too bad.
The only thing I can say about that year is that I completed the first pass of the college football season... other than that nothing. |
| [Jim]: |
Todd Sauerbrun... the 91 yard punt was in that game. |
| [Chad]: |
That's right, our MVP of the game was our punter, so that tells you things didn't go so well for us. |
| |
| [Camper]: |
How much can you bench? |
| [Chad]: |
Probably not very much now. At one time, I could probably bench about 330. |
| |
| [Camper]: |
What is your favorite NFL team? |
| [Chad]: |
I used to be a big Dolphins fan because I loved Dan Marino. But then I kind of got where I followed players. I played against Donovan McNabb when he was at Syracuse, so I really like McNabb. I also like Peyton Manning quite a bit. I've gotten to where I like players more than I like teams. |
| |
| [Camper]: |
What number where you? |
| [Chad]: |
I was number 8. When you're a small guy like me, wear single digits. It makes you look bigger. |
| |
| [Camper]: |
Did you ever score? |
| [Chad]: |
Yes, I did. I scored one touchdown while I was here. It was against Missouri... in 1994. But, I think I threw 43, I think, while I was here... which I think tied me for first when I left. I think I'm down the list now to 3rd or 4th place. |
